INTERFACE ... inhalation... exhalation...

It was the very feeling of the breath, in its path of inhalation and exhalation that prompted this depiction. It has been used as a meditative image to slow the breath to a rate that engages the parasympathetic nervous system, bringing about a deep relaxation and lowered blood pressure.

Inhalation to the count of 3, exhalation to the count of 8. The apex point of light at the pineal gland upon inhalation from the base of the spine, to the mid point of the crown, exhaling down slowly out of two nostrils to the count of 8 to completion.

The Count of 3 ... a readiness... a triune, a special grace... upon inhalation ~ The count of 8 ... an ordering, as above, so below, a resolve... upon exhalation ... the receiving, the giving, onto SELF ...blessed be this BREATH of BEING. 

Start the practice, with eyes closed, breathing the *Governing Vessel Breath three times. Open the eyes, focus on the image, INTERFACE. Bring your attention to a mid point three inches below your navel, travel to the count of 3 straight through the abdomen to the base of your spine, up to the mid point of the crown of the head, this the inhalation.   Visually go from the outer edge of the image path (from left to right as it faces you) ) to the apex point on the image, where the light is most prominent, all this on the inhalation. Now upon exhalation, allowing a slow descent from the apex to the end of the dip in the image INTERFACE to the count of 8. Do this for nine inhalations/exhalations. This is followed by closing the eyes, breathing to the count of 3 upon inhalation, and to the count of 8 upon exhalation, for three such breaths. Open your eyes, acknowledging with gratitude the gift of BREATH and BEING.
