If you allow yourself to listen to your heart with a stethoscope, eyes closed, the cosmos that is you, the ocean, will make itself known in each moment of breath... Before I start the offering of the APOGEE Acu-Tone ™ experience, in a prone position on the infrared heated table, I leave the person alone in the APOGEE Sound Sanctuary,™ to listen to his/her heartbeat in the exclusive company of itself, for a full three minutes. Upon my return, and in silence, I initiate the process... one's own heartbeat is the opening of Self to the receiving, the giving of BEING. The APOGEE Acu-Tone™ experience begins with our listening to our own heartbeat and awareness of breath. Seven sounds, each vibrating to notes C to B are offered. The Chakras, The Accupuncture Points and Meridians, offer fields, points and pathways of passage for the sound. Each sound offered is in response to the call of the body. The body provides the information that guides both the giver and receiver. .  APOGEE Acu-Tone™ is an integrated system of Attunement Therapy™ based upon The Entrainment Transformation Principle and the natural intelligence behind life's quest for harmony of body, mind and spirit. 

The Entrainment Transformation Principle, a physics phenomenon of resonance, first observed in the 17th century, has an effect on all of us. Entrainment is defined as the tendency for two oscillating bodies to lock into phase so that they vibrate in harmony. It is also defined as a synchronization of two or more rhythmic cycles. The principle of entrainment is universal, appearing in chemistry, pharmacology, biology, medicine, psychology, sociology, astronomy, architecture and more. The classic example shows individual pulsing heart muscle cells. When they are brought close together, they begin pulsing in synchrony. Another example of the entrainment effect is women who live in the same household often find that their menstrual cycles will coincide. 

The history of entrainment is linked to Dutch scientist, Christian Huygens in 1665. While working on the design of the pendulum clock, Huygens found that when he placed two of them on a wall near each other and swung the pendulums at different rates, they would eventually end up swinging in at the same rate. This is due to their mutual influence on one another. 

The entrainment process is quite evident in music. It is possible to have rhythmic entrainment, melodic entrainment and dynamic entrainment.
